Plan for Indigenous Culture
Yellowknife is on Chief Drygeese Territory, the traditional land of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation. The wider North Slave region is connected to Tłı̨chǫ, Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous communities.
Choose community-led or appropriately authorized experiences, follow cultural and photography guidance, and approach living cultures as relationships rather than attractions. Verify names, protocols, and visitor access with the host community.
